Crispy Turnip Fries


CRISPY TURNIP FRIES
(Phase 1 Recipe)


Prep time:   10 min        Cook time:  0 min        Serving Size:   2 tsp.       Yields:  1 Cup              

INGREDIENTS:


3 lbs Turnips
Olive Oil Spray
1 tsp Garlic Salt
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Onion Powder



DIRECTIONS:
1)    Preheat oven to 425 degrees . Line a baking sheet with a piece of aluminum foil and lightly spray with Olive Oil Spray.
2)    Peel the turnips, and cut into French fry-sized sticks, about 1/3 by 4 inches (or smaller for crispier fries but keep an eye on them so they don't burn). Place the garlic salt, paprika, onion powder in a resealable plastic bag, and shake to mix. Spray turnips lightly and place into the bag, and shake until evenly coated with the spices. Spread out onto the prepared baking sheet.
3)    Bake in preheated oven until the outside is crispy, and the inside is tender, about 20 minutes.  Turn once to prevent burning.  Serve immediately.

Recipe Options: Use Rutabaga in place of Turnips.
